Pay Rate: $46 Location: Toronto ON Job Type: Contract Our client, a Top 5 Canadian Bank, is looking to hire a Professional - Content Editor - Expert for a 6-month contract (with potential extension or conversion to FTE). This is a hybrid position based in Toronto, with in-office work required every Wednesday and the third Friday of each month.
Responsibilities: Write, edit, and proofread digital content for public-facing channels (Bank, Simplii Financial, Client Bank USA, affiliates). Ensure content meets brand standards, voice/tone, accessibility requirements, and plain language principles. Apply SEO best practices to increase visibility, engagement, and client conversion. Collaborate with UX designers, product owners, marketing, regulatory, and legal teams to deliver clear and compliant content. Manage the editorial process from strategy and research to CMS authoring, reviews, approvals, and version control. Support content strategy tasks, including competitive research, usability copy, and content inventories. Contribute to style guide updates, inclusive writing practices, and accessibility improvements. Provide training and onboarding support for editorial workflow and CMS authoring as needed.
Must-Have Skills 5+ years of experience in content editing, UX writing, or digital content design. Strong working knowledge of CP Style. Experience writing for web/digital platforms. Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Technical Writing, or equivalent work experience. Strong command of the English language with excellent attention to detail. Nice-to-Have Skills Previous banking/financial services experience. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS. Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0), inclusive writing, and content strategy principles. Knowledge of SEO, plain language best practices, and UX collaboration. Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar workflow tools.
