Pay Rate: $45 Location: Toronto ON Job Type: Contract

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Digital Content Designer for a 6-Months contract with strong potential for extension. The Content Designer will support digital marketing and UX initiatives by creating clear, engaging, client-focused content across web, mobile, and other public-facing digital channels.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in office. 

Responsibilities Write, edit, and proofread digital content for websites, online ads, apps, and other client-facing channels. Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, voice and tone standards, CP Style, and accessibility/SEO best practices. Conduct research, including competitive reviews, content inventories, and UX writing for wireframes as needed. Manage the full editorial workflow--drafting, revising, routing for approvals, incorporating stakeholder feedback, and maintaining version control. Build and publish content in a CMS (AEM preferred), troubleshoot defects, and support implementation during launches. Collaborate with UX designers, visual designers, product owners, legal/compliance teams, and marketing partners to deliver cohesive, user-centered content. Support translation workflows and ensure consistency across English and French content. Stay current on accessibility standards, SEO trends, digital writing guidelines, and emerging web technologies. Advocate for strong, inclusive content and maintain a consistent voice and tone across digital properties. Must-Have Skills 3-5 years of experience in content design, content editing, UX writing, or a digital editorial environment. Strong working knowledge of CP Style. Demonstrated experience writing for websites and digital properties. Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present content decisions to stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams. Nice-to-Have Skills Previous experience in financial services or banking. Experience with AEM or similar CMS platforms. Familiarity with content strategy principles, inclusive writing, and plain language standards. Understanding of WCAG 2.0 accessibility requirements. Working knowledge of SEO and digital UX. Experience using enterprise tools such as Jira, Confluence, and workflow/publishing systems. Experience working with UX designers, content strategists, and creative teams in an Agile environment.
