WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This role will mainly support the local Staffing/Program Management team and Office Head. This role reports into a member of the Boston office Program Management team but interfaces closely across with the full Program Management team, the Office Head, the Head of Boston Operations, and the Human Resources team.

 

 

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM 

As a key member of the Boston staffing and office operations team, you’ll be supporting the local Staffing/Program Management team and Office Head. This role reports into a member of the Boston office Program Management team but interfaces closely across with the full Program Management team, the Office Head, the Head of Boston Operations, and the Human Resources team.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Full role responsibilities include support for the consulting staff ratings process, promotions, business school coordination, PD advisor assignments, office operations support, and ad hoc analytics.

 

Associate Consultant (AC), Consultant and Manager programmatic support:

Ratings process -Drive the bi-annual consulting staff ratings process including:Collection of input ratings from direct lane managers/supervisorsCollate inputs and provide to Program Management team for review and final calibrationsSupport preparation of bi-annual "People Meeting" materialsTeam with the HR SSC to ensure consistent data is used in the review triggering process Be expert on and team with the HR SSC and local HR team to ensure consistent policies are applied in ratings processes and following through the review execution - e.g. policies for FEMPs, direct promotes, new managers, etc. Set the calendar for the cycle and draft communications to the case leadership team regarding key activities and deadlinesSend out final ratings to PD advisorsFollowing review delivery, team with HR SSC, local HR and staffing to ensure staffing is playing the right role in performance management - e.g. tracking of individuals on performance watch and stats/process, communications to PD reviewers, etc. 

 

Promotions support – Work with AC and Consultant Promotion Committees to support promotion decisionsSupport diligence process including assignment of Guardians, preparation of diligence packs for Guardians, preparation of materials for committee meetings, and preparation of messaging to candidates

 

Business school supportOrganize the overall business school support roadmap to lay out a plan for in-office events, dissemination of resources, and major decision deadlinesSupport the business school mentor matching process annuallyCoordinate admissions sessions with top MBA programs

 

PD advisor assignments Run annual process to gather and collate input on preferences, match preferences and communicate assignmentsPrepare dashboard of current subscriptions and maintain master reference listManage ad hoc PD advisor assignments for transfers and interim advisorsSend out case kickoff communications to LT with PD advisors for team members


Boston office talent operations support 

Support planning and execution of on-going staffing-driven and people-focused meetingsCoordinate directly with the members of the AC/C Program Management teams to prepare for and facilitate the regularly occurring affinity group meetingsCoordinate with the VP of Business Operations to prepare for Leadership Team and Partner meetingsWork with Program Managers to establish priorities, arrange for required content, and maintain an eye on continuous improvement of the meeting format and content

 

Support end-of-year Partner Review Process:Gather inputs (generate templates, email stakeholders, clean data) and compile People Score model (convert raw inputs into 0-5 score based on rubric for each input)Track and compile inputs from Partner peer feedback processCollate inputs (Peer feedback, Upward Feedback, Practice Feedback, etc.) into prep document for all partners

 

Ad hoc systems and analytics supportPartner with AC/C Program Management on survey and data requests needed to support talent initiativesRun ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by Program Management and Operations team, such as preliminary re-tenuring plans, intern assignment reporting and tracking, pyramid file maintenanceRun ad hoc operational data analyses; non exhaustive examples include:Occupancy/office attendance reportingBudget analysis and deep-divesFood service provider usage and performance reviews (in new building)

  


ABOUT YOU

- Bachelor’s Degree is required.

- A minimum of 3 years professional experience is required, preferably in professional services.

- Deep knowledge of Bain & Company is preferable.

- Strong customer service, meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills necessary.

- Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills.

- Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.

- Ability to deal with highly confidential information appropriately.

- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint is required.

 


U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service, and Bain’s best-in-class benefits package.


Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:

In Massachusetts, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time hourly salary range for this role is between $34.62 - $41.59; placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, licensure/certifications, training, and skill level.


Additional compensation may include:
