As a Senior Research Scientist you will be an integral part of an energetic, highly-engaged small team where there are many overlapping roles and opportunities for cross-over skillsets to develop and contribute across a range of technologies. Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with defense customers, other contractors, intelligence personnel, senior scientists, principal investigators, and program managers, to understand needs and develop or recommend solutions.Model and characterize electromagnetic (EM) phenomenology (scattering, absorption, polarization, refraction, diffraction, etc.) primarily in radio frequency (RF) bandsCharacterize and evaluate radar cross sections (RCS)Write and present technical information related to development activitiesDevelop technical solutions and help write proposals for new work.Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering with 13+ years of experience.Must be a U.S. CitizenExpertise in applied electromagnetics with skills in EM modeling and experimentationRobust communication skills and a willingness and interest to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team environment to drive towards overall project and team objectivesExcellent technical writing, documentation, and organizationAbility to both lead and work as a team memberStrong attention to detail and deadlinesAbility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearanceOriginal Posting:July 7, 2025For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.
