About the role The Consulting Applications Engineer is our key technical advisor and product advocate for our Load Center products, advising on simple to complex residential electrical power distribution projects, working with our sales team to provide the best solutions to our customers. Responsible for ensuring proper application of our Load Center products in projects, design layouts and assisting with the quotation stage of the sales process and assignment of appropriate SKUs. Responsibilities Use expert knowledge of electrical system design and code requirements to assist the sales team in providing product offerings Interpret customer specifications to identify appropriate products and assemble design packages, bills of materials, project submittals, and panel schedules. Establish contacts with electrical utilities to gain approval of Leviton’s metered product portfolio Review electrical utility requirements to identify targets for approval process Provide design and specification development support to consultants, contractors, and distributors Respond to functional and technical elements of RFQs/RFPs Identify and visit engineering firms with our sales team to get products specified Perform product training and maintain accurate records of target accounts and opportunities Attend job site and other customer meetings to represent Leviton when necessary Communicate with factory, product engineers and others on schedule, quality issues and customer complaints Provide assistance with resolution of customer issues Proactively provide MDU projects to Sales from construction data base and collaborative Work with marketing team on support documentation and application notes Attend NEMA, EUSERC, MEG and Apartment Industry meetings/events as needed Qualifications Strong knowledge of circuit breakers, load centers, power distribution systems Skilled in creating design packages and project proposals Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and presentation Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers and external business partners Adept at working cross-functionally and in highly confidential environments Proficiency with the Microsoft Office tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or another related technical field Experience with circuit breakers, load centers, power distribution systems Minimum of 5 years' experience in a product applications/design environment Excellent knowledge of electrical Codes & Standards Experience with interpreting blueprints, engineered plans and electrical specifications Experience with BIM drawings Travel Up to 25% travel What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law.
