Consultant - Ecology

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Assist in habitat loss/gain calculations, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, and ecological impact evaluations.
+ Support the use of digital tools (e.g., GIS, remote sensing, data visualization) to improve ecological deliverables.
+ Contribute to the development of habitat mitigation and compensation plans under UK legislation.
+ Prepare and review ecological reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), BNG assessments, and Nature Conservation (NC) reports.
+ Participate in internal knowledge sharing and collaborate with global ecology colleagues.
+ Support proposal writing and other business development activities.
🛠️ **Key Competencies / Skills**
Essential Skills
+ Experience in ecological consultancy or conservation science, with familiarity with UK ecological standards and legislation.
+ Competence in ecological data handling and interpretation.
+ Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
+ Strong written communication skills for technical reporting.
+ Working knowledge of GIS and spatial analysis tools.
+ Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
+ Problem-solving mindset and willingness to innovate.
+ Understanding of European Protected Species and licensing basics.
+ Exposure to biodiversity metrics and habitat condition assessments.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic database tools.
+ Master’s degree or higher in Ecology, Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or a related discipline.
+ Having appropriate qualification from relevant UK institutions is an advantage
