What Business Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.


Business Analysis is responsible for deeply understanding the business in multiple functional areas and across Business Units, as well as understanding the application landscape and capabilities. They maintain relationships with the business and leverage requirements engineering practices and methods to enable improved business processes to drive business success. They align business strategies and capability needs into business and technical requirements to ensure IT systems enable the desired value. 

As the Inventory Tech Business Analyst, you will be at the forefront of optimizing our pharmaceutical supply chain through innovative technology solutions.  You will collaborate with a team of talented technology professionals, assisting to drive the design, development, and implementation of critical inventory management capabilities within various applications which help manage, provide visibility and support inventory allocation, supply and demand forecasting, and inventory management across the pharma segment.

You'll have the opportunity to work closely with business product owners, enterprise architecture, and 3rd party vendors to help plan and execute mission critical projects.  These projects undoubtedly will enhance our 20+ distribution center network’s productivity, efficiency, and bottom line.

Responsibilities

Knows and executes best practices for business analysis processes and functions (from an industry and strategic standpoint), including requirements elicitation methods. Knows emerging trends. Defines requirements in accordance with SDP/SDLC, management and project/product scope. Ensures problem statements and objectives are clearly defined. Ensures requirements are aligned to project scope, objectives, and strategies. Leads elicitation sessions using variety of requirements gathering methods such as interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, and business models with executives, managers, developers, and subject matter experts to develop and articulate process flows, requirements and rules, and prepare appropriate documentation.Collaborates with subject matter experts to execute user acceptance testing and change management activities and to understand the results of these activities.Analyzes new capabilities and changing business needs to inform the delivery of Information Technology solutions.Investigates business operations, identifies causes behind the results achieved, and articulates the effects of those results on the business.Partners with functional experts to ensure scope is clearly defined for projects and implementation initiatives. Continually evaluates projects’ achievement of associated business cases and prevents unnecessary investment.Participate in discovery, scoping, and prioritization and status calls to understand IT needs of business partners, suppliers and customer and provide recommendations.Document solutions and mapping requirements for developers and software vendors; outlining process flows.Assist with on call support and service restoration calls as needed.Collaborate with shared services, GTBS IT departments, and pharma business segment regarding interfaces, dashboards, alerts and monitoring, EDI, data dumps, and Integration solutions/ fixes and knowledge transfer. Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions, providing guidance to internal stakeholders on best practices in warehouse, distribution, and inventory technologies.Demonstrates knowledge of software development life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents.Coordinate and collaborate with various business departments to complete user acceptance testing and change control.Mediates across different IT teams utilizing knowledge of IT and roles and responsibilities within the organization. Focuses on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment. Demonstrates excellent listening, communication, and facilitation skills. In partnership with project stakeholders and Director, summarizes project results, insights and impacts and creates deliverables for presentation to senior business leaders.Resolve tickets within specified SLAs.Continuous communication and status updates provided at minimum weekly to stakeholders. Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives.Uses deep subject matter/functional expertise, influence and process skills to help internal/external customers and stakeholders identify and meet their high priority needs while considering cultural and diversity implications.Jointly develops practical implementation plans with other accountable parties.Proactively develops and maintains business process knowledge in specialized area(s), remaining up to date on current technological trends and best practicesPerforms assessments and listens to internal clients to understand and anticipate their needs and determine their priorities in the context of the overall enterprise.Problem-solver who consistently illustrates process flows and serves as liaison to convey business and IT requirements as well as collaborate with software vendors for the same.Lead workshops, hold interviews and other ancillary methods to elicit requirementsPerforms assessments and listens to internal/external customers to understand and anticipate their needs and determine their priorities in the context of the overall enterprise.May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.Assists in estimating tasks and the preparation of project plans.Measures performance of the newly implemented solution against desired results and makes basic improvements; demonstrates a strong sense of ownership for outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience preferred  4+ years experience in related field preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred 

Anticipated salary range: $94,900 - $135,600
