What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health

This role entails overseeing the inbound freight operations within the Cardinal Health network, encompassing both raw materials and finished goods. The primary objective is to optimize transportation modes to minimize costs while maintaining high standards of quality and service. Additionally, the role involves identifying and executing strategic projects addressing vendor-related and Cardinal site-specific issues.

Responsibilities:

Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with over 50 inbound suppliers, routing inbound orders, monitoring performance, and resolving any transportation issues.Strategic Project Management: Identify and execute strategic projects addressing vendor-related and Cardinal site-specific issues, improving overall inbound freight operations.Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data related to inbound freight operations, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Develop and present reports to key stakeholders.Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve inbound freight processes, implementing best practices and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards related to inbound freight operations.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferredAPICS Certification preferred4-8 years of experience in transportation optimization, including mode selection, route planning, and carrier negotiation preferredProficiency in using logistics and inventory management software and tools.Strong understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify areas for improvement. Experience with Tableau is desiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to achieving results
