The Consultant, GRA reports to the Senior Director, GRA. As the Consultant, GRA, you will work with the GRA team in fulfilling the mandate to advise on the governance and management of regulatory risk, the implementation of effective regulatory strategies and standards, reporting to Senior Management and the Board on regulatory interactions, and with internal and external communications concerning regulatory topics. You will also be responsible for providing general support to the Senior Director, GRA and the GRA team. _At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote._ **How you’ll succeed** + **Support communications –** Initiate and lead analysis and assessment of potential regulatory announcements and associated impacts to CIBC. Under the direction of the Senior Director, GRA support interactions and communications with Regulators, including regulatory reviews, regulatory communication, meetings and ad hoc requests. + **Support on regulatory interactions –** Support the GRA team with regulatory interactions within various portfolios. This responsibility includes supporting Senior Consultants and Directors to build strong and effective relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met and if possible, exceeded on a timely basis. You will lead the production of weekly, monthly and quarterly Senior Management (EXCO) and Board reporting including developing presentations and tracking and reporting various metrics for GRA. + **Regulatory research and monitoring –** Accountable for contributing to the team’s knowledge base and keeping abreast of developments within the industry including leading research efforts on specific topics. Monitor regulatory requirements, and communicate to relevant stakeholders the implication of existing and proposed regulations, and, where required, assist in the development of responses to Regulators + **Relationship management –** Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders are required to ensure their needs and expectations are met and if possible, exceeded. **Who you are** + **You can demonstrate experience** . 2+ years' experience in financial services demonstrating analytical and information/data management skills. Knowledge of risk management, regulatory compliance, internal control, audit, or legal matters. You can demonstrate strong skills with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. It’s an asset if you have previous experience in financial services working with regulators and have an understanding of recent regulatory developments. + **You have a degree.** Undergraduate or masters degree in business, finance, financial risk management, and/or related field. **It is considered an asset** to have certifications/ accreditation in CFA or FRM. + **You're passionate about people.** You find meaning in relationships, and surround yourself with a diverse network of partners.
