Airswift is looking for a Construction SME - Civil to work for a major LNG project in Lake Charles, LA, for an initial 1-year assignment with extensions.
Summary:
The Construction SME - Civil (SMEC) will be responsible for oversight of EPC contractor’s execution of Civil/Structure/Architecture construction work at the project site in compliance with the project design and requirements. The SMEC, in liaison with other LNG project functions (Quality, Field Engineering, HSSE, CSU, Project Control, Procurement, Contract, Permitting), will support Area Construction Managers and Construction Supervisors, provide technical assurance for day-to-day Civil/Structure/Architecture construction execution and support the project’s mission to convert project LNG’s import regasification facility to a world-scale export facility. The SMEC will report directly to the Construction/Site Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review and evaluate Contractor’s design, execution plans, construction methods, schedule and provide timely feedback as required. Monitor Contractor’s Civil/Structure/Architecture construction execution in the field and assure compliances in terms of safety, quality and schedule. Attend field inspections, tests and walkdowns as directed. Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction execution in a proactive manner. Establish professional relationships with coworkers and contractor/subcontractor personnel to enable seamless interaction. Prepare daily report with key achievements, progress, events, issues & concerns, observations utilizing a given format. Provide input and contribute to weekly, monthly or other reports as directed. Attend daily toolbox meetings and other field meetings, standdowns, walkdowns on site as directed. Attend off-site meetings, inspections and tests as directed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Architectural) or related field. Minimum of five (15) years of experience in the oil and gas construction project, preferably in the LNG or gas processing sector. Minimum of (5) five years of experience in US Gulf construction. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but not limited to management, coworkers, contractors. Proficiency in Microsoft's suite of tools and software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams). Knowledge and understanding of scheduling software (e.g., Primavera). Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE, ASTM, IBC, PIANC). Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FERC, PHMSA, TSCG, USACE, EPA) and local guidelines (State, Parish, City). Knowledge of construction best practice in the industry. Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to acquire TWIC. Physical requirements: - Lifting and Carrying: Ability to carry heavy materials, often exceeding 50 pounds. Physical Exertion: Task may require standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Range of Motion: Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as squatting, kneeling and climbing. Vision and Hearing: Specific vision abilities may be required, such as close vision for detailed work. Environmental Conditions: Work may be performed in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold. Preferred Qualifications: Experience of working for an owner company in oil and gas construction projects. Experience in brownfield construction projects. Experience in modularized construction projects. Other Notes: This position is full time site-based position.
