Construction Senior Project Manager I - Solar

SUMMARY  

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I to join our Solar Group and provide overall leadership direction to one large project or multiple projects to include the management of project quality, timeliness, safety, as well as mentoring the project team. You will develop and improve customer relationships by providing excellent service.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary as you will be interacting with staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with a high level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success.

This is the perfect opportunity for those experienced project managers, who enjoy leading from the front, managing stakeholder groups across all levels, and coaching team members. If you are inventive, dedicated and lead with a high level of integrity and humility this is the right role for you. 

Travel: This is a 100% travel position, and locations may vary based on the project. Most projects have an estimated duration of a year while others may last longer. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete you will be assigned to another project.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Supervise overall financial health of projects  Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections  Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices  Provide financials and billings to Accounting, create monthly owner billings  Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections  Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training  Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative  Resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary approvals  Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience   Minimum eight years of construction management/project management or related experience   Utility scale solar project experience preferred   Self-perform experience preferred Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, large complex projects  Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback  Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices  Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level  Positive professional attitude, and strong customer service skills  Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies   Current driver’s license  Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $140,800- $211,200. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.  This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
