Construction Project Planner
JSG, Inc. is currently a seasoned Construction Project Planner with demonstrated expertise in large-scale industrial construction management, particularly projects with mechanical and electrical scopes. The ideal candidate will combine strong organizational capabilities with a thorough understanding of industry standards, including but not limited to AACE International Recommended Practices, PMI’s PMBOK, and ISO 21500 guidelines. The role is pivotal in ensuring all construction activities are planned, coordinated, and executed in strict compliance with applicable regulations, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.

Roles and Responsibilities Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-recognized tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Coordinate resource allocation for all phases, aligning with the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Best Practices, and facilitate collaboration with subcontractors, procurement teams, site project managers, and construction managers. Conduct regular site progress reviews, prepare periodic reports that adhere to ISO 21500 and local regulatory requirements; immediately address deviations and propose corrective actions in line with risk management best practices. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle; maintain and regularly update a risk registry. Act as a central communication liaison among all stakeholders, ensuring project updates and requirements are clearly conveyed to project managers, clients, engineers, and subcontractors in accordance with effective stakeholder management practices. Assist and control modifications to project scope, design, and schedules, ensuring all changes are formally documented and approved by contractual and regulatory requirements. Maintain detailed project documentation—including schedules, risk registers, change logs, and compliance records—for internal review and client reporting. Ensure all construction activities are executed in compliance with OSHA, local building codes, and environmental standards, and that safety plans are implemented and monitored by industry best practices. Proficiency in modern construction management technologies, including Procore, 4D scheduling, Building Information Modeling (BIM) following ISO 19650 standards, and data analytics.
Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not critical; advanced certification such as PMI-SP, AACE PSP, or equivalent is highly desirable. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction planning/project controls, preferably on complex industrial EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. Deep familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and industry standards for project planning and controls. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to interpret and apply industry standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; adept at stakeholder coordination in dynamic, multidisciplinary project environments. Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to industry codes of ethics and standards.
