Construction Project Manager

On behalf of our client, TalentWorld is recruiting a Construction Project Manager to join the Capital Projects team. Working closely with Executive Leadership, this role will play a key part in delivering new builds, renovations, and leasehold improvement projects while helping define the long-term vision of the organization’s construction strategy.

Construction Project Manager Responsibilities:
• Oversee multiple construction and renovation projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Work closely with the Capital Projects GM to develop and execute long-term capital and leasehold improvement strategies.
• Provide operational oversight and leadership to site supervisors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality standards.
• Interpret and enforce construction drawings, contracts, and municipal bylaws.
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and long-term operational planning within the Capital Projects division.

Construction Project Manager Qualifications:
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline; P.Eng. designation considered an asset.
• Project Management designation (PMP) or equivalent experience preferred.
• Background in commercial or residential construction.
• Strong understanding of Halifax construction practices, permitting processes, and local bylaws.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management software an asset
• Strategic thinker with an operational mindset and an interest in long-term capital planning.
• Ability to work both in the office and on active project sites.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
