Construction Project Manager, Small Projects (Hybrid, Seattle)
Job Description

Join a high-performing team of Construction Project Managers responsible for delivering remodel projects across Nordstrom retail stores, Supply Chain facilities, and Corporate Offices. This role requires 8+ years of experience managing the full lifecycle of construction projects, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, construction oversight, and closeout. The Construction Project Manager be able to work independently and serves as the primary liaison between architects, engineers, contractors, and both internal and external stakeholders.

A day in the life…

Partner with internal departments to define and validate project scope, cost, and schedule and direction of each project are validated and capturedPartner with real estate and legal teams to support the execution of developer contracts and define landlord responsibilitiesManage complex brand relationships with external retail brands to execute on their visions for how different concepts come to life In Nordstrom StoresImplement scope and program information from the Design Team; produce in-house scope documents (PDF markups) for use by internal stakeholders and contractorsPerform site surveys prior to lease negotiations and throughout the project to ensure the Nordstrom standards and expectations are being metDevelop and manage construction budgets for approval; solicit and evaluate bids from qualified contractorsMonitor, manage and report on project schedules, costs and risksLead and motivate a team of external consultants including architects, engineers and specialists to determine the specifications of the project, schedules, create contract documents, submissions, etc. to deliver the project while meeting time, cost and quality expectationsLead and manage the general contractor to construct the project, manage trades, interface with the developer and local jurisdiction, review bids, control costs and meet time, cost and quality expectationsReview and manage change orders and contract complianceConduct meetings on site with the consultants, developer, construction crew and local authorities as neededCoordinate with the store team and communicate to them daily and weekly during constructionNavigate decision channels within all groupsResolve any unforeseen conditions with the budget and schedule in mindReview and approve payment applications and closeout documents

You own this if you have…

8+ years of experience in Construction Project Management experience in a construction, retail or design organization with practical on-site experience and understanding of construction means and methods, and site operationsDegree or diploma in construction management, architecture or related field Strong visual, written, and verbal communication skills related to design and construction with multidisciplinary teams and external partnersAbility to read and interpret contract documents, details, and specifications, with a working knowledge of MEP systemsExceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex issuesAbility to manage a high volume of work within compressed timeframesExperience working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-energy environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCADA passion for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality workAbility to work independently and thrive in daily ambiguity and ever changing retail environmentAbility to work on more complex supply chain projects including robotics, automation and material handling equipment installations.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$103,500.00 - $175,000.00 Annual

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
