Job Description
The Laboratory Manager oversees day‑to‑day lab operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality construction materials and geotechnical testing. The role manages workflow, staffing, and equipment. Will support inspections/audits and keep records. Responsibilities include supervising and developing a team of 3 staff members, maintaining calibration and maintenance programs, supporting proposals and accurate scoping, and ensuring all administrative tasks are completed correctly. The manager leads safety efforts, prepares for inspections and audits, monitors project quality, and may perform testing when needed, while also contributing to hiring, performance reviews, and business planning.

Skills and Requirements
2–3+ years of experience performing laboratory tests in a construction materials laboratory, specifically with concrete and soils testing
Knowledge of asphalt and masonry testing is a strong plus
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline preferred
Prior supervisory or team‑lead experience preferred
ACI, NICET, and DOT certifications preferred Proven experience preparing for and conducting laboratory audits/accreditations, including maintaining accurate records (up to 3 years), ensuring staff are trained and credentialed, and organizing documentation for inspections.
