Construction Material Lab Technician - Talent Network / Future Opportunities (New Jersey)
Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Construction Material Laboratory Technicians to join our Talent Network for future project opportunities. While this is not an active opening, we encourage qualified candidates to apply so we can consider you as new roles become available. As part of our Talent Network, your application will be reviewed for upcoming projects that require laboratory technicians to test soil/rock (geotechnical), concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials to ASTM and AASHTO standards. Responsibilities + Perform testing procedures in the laboratory accurately and in accordance with standards and specifications. + Field collection of samples. + Assist with asphalt or concrete coring. + Become proficient in soil and rock classification systems. + Communicate effectively with management and clients both verbally and in writing. + Work independently with supervision. Qualifications + High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in engineering, science, or a related field is preferred but not required. + 0–1+ years of relevant experience. + Valid driver's license required. + Training and certification will be provided. + NICET Level I and OSHA 10 certifications are preferred but not required. + Ability to read, write, and understand English to comprehend written communications and verbal instructions effectively. + Basic computer proficiency required, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. + Willingness to become familiar with reading standards and specifications. + Willingness to learn industry practices and materials testing procedures.
