The primary responsibility in this role is to manage ICT (OSP) construction activities across various project districts and areas, including direct oversight of the ICT contractor’s site works. The role requires proactive identification, management, and resolution of construction-related risks to ensure successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting regular coordination and progress meetings with contractors.
Reviewing, validating, and monitoring construction schedules, progress updates, and mitigation measures to ensure alignment with overall project objectives and milestones.
Facilitating effective communication among all project stakeholders to ensure transparency, timely issue resolution, and coordinated decision-making.
Documenting lessons learned from construction management activities across the programme to support continuous improvement and best practices.
Directing overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
Determining budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
Ensuring the availability of subcontractors and major construction equipment at appropriate times for maximum efficiency and productivity.
Assigning responsibilities to Construction Superintendents across various work areas, monitoring progress, and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
Conducting performance evaluations and recommending promotions and salary adjustments.
Managing contractor assignments of manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize efficiency, maintain schedules, and meet budget goals.
Anticipating and mitigating potential issues to ensure critical milestones are met for each project phase.
Enforcing sound construction practices to achieve required quality control with maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
Preparing periodic reports summarizing construction progress for senior management and clients.
Ensuring effective implementation of all company and client policies and procedures, including labor relations policies.
Performing other responsibilities as appropriate to the position.
Preferred Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in ICT (OSP) or a related construction field.
15 to 20 years of experience in field construction, with significant exposure to large-scale ICT/OSP/data center infrastructure and/or ICT infrastructure projects.
Skills and Competencies
Comprehensive knowledge of ICT (OSP) and external ICT construction processes and industry best practices.
Proven leadership and management capabilities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Certifications
BICS certification preferred.
