System One is currently seeking a Construction Manager (Civil) on a 12 month contract position located in Menomonie, WI.
Construction Manager (Civil) Responsibilities: Lead the execution of a large-scale hydroelectric dam project. Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. Provide technical guidance on civil works including excavation, foundation treatment, concrete placement, spillways, intake structures, and embankments. Manage and coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and quality control. Develop and maintain construction schedules, monitor progress, and control costs to ensure project delivery within budget. Implement and enforce quality control procedures for all civil works, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations Liaise with design teams, consultants, government agencies, and local communities to ensure smooth project execution. Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
Construction Manager (Civil) Requirements: Bachelors degree or significant related field experience. Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or hydroelectric projects. Strong knowledge of dam construction methods, civil construction, and concrete technology. Proficiency in construction management tools. (Microsoft products, Bluebeam, etc.) Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work in remote or challenging environments. Strong background in civil construction projects, with proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects in challenging environments. Deep understanding of dam construction, geotechnical considerations, concrete works, and water management systems.
Construction Manager (Civil) Preferred Requirements: Experience with Mass concrete pours, setup and QC. Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainability practices in hydro projects. Previous work on international or government-funded infrastructure projects.
