Key Competencies Required

JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Overview

JLL is seeking experienced Construction Managers to oversee large-scale commercial base build projects. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing construction activities from project inception through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

Lead construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality specifications

Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and monitor progress against milestones

Manage project budgets and control costs throughout the construction lifecycle

Quality & Compliance

Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and JLL quality standards

Conduct regular site inspections and quality assessments

Implement and monitor safety protocols on construction sites

Coordinate with regulatory authorities for necessary approvals and inspections

Stakeholder Management

Serve as primary point of contact between JLL, clients, contractors, and vendors

Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients

Facilitate project meetings and coordinate resolution of construction issues

Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle

Team Leadership

Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate activities across multiple disciplines

Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to project team members

Foster collaborative relationships with all project stakeholders

Ensure effective communication across all levels of the organization

Risk Management

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies

Monitor and manage change orders and their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget

Ensure proper documentation of all project activities and decisions

Coordinate with legal and insurance teams on contract and claims management

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from an accredited institution

Experience

10-12 years of progressive experience in construction management

Proven track record managing commercial base build projects from conception to completion

Experience with projects ranging from 5-10 lakh square feet

Strong background in commercial real estate construction including office buildings, retail centers, and mixed-use developments

Technical Skills

Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, etc.)

Knowledge of construction management systems and technologies

Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction standards

Experience with BIM and other construction technologies preferred

Professional Skills

Excellent leadership and team management capabilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications (PMP, CCM, or equivalent)

Experience with LEED or other green building certifications

Knowledge of local construction markets and vendor networks

Experience working with international clients and standards
