About the Program
AECOM has been appointed to deliver the Shell Mobility program across the Benelux region. This work focuses on managing the execution of underground tank inspections and replacements on Shell Mobility fuel stations.

AECOM is providing end-to-end project delivery, from engineering and procurement through to construction, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. To support this program, we are expanding our Benelux team and are looking for experienced professionals who can bring consistency, leadership, and attention to detail to every site we deliver.

The Role

As Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for the on-site activities for the underground tank inspections and replacement program. You will oversee multiple projects being executed in parallel by various contractors, making sure each one is completed safely, on time, on budget, and to Shell Mobility’s quality standards.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, the client team, and our contractors to plan, coordinate, and manage all site activities from preparation through to handover. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys the challenge of delivering consistent results across multiple sites.

What You’ll Do

Split your time between client sites, AECOM offices, and remote work, depending on project needs.Be part of the Project Delivery Team and report to the Project Manager.Lead day-to-day site activities, ensuring that construction work runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently.Manage construction execution according to Shell Mobility’s standards.Keep projects on track with respect to time, cost, and quality.Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues, ensuring open and transparent communication.Drive and promote HSSE excellence, ensuring safety remains the top priority on every site.Motivate and support contractors and site teams to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced rollout environment.Monitor budgets and schedules, identify risks early, and find practical solutions to keep delivery on course.Look for opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency across all sites.

You’ll Also Be Involved In

Taking part in HSSE meetings and site audits to verify safety standards are met and maintained.Sharing lessons learned and good practices to support continuous improvement throughout the program.Leading or joining key project meetings such as scoping visits, pre-start briefings, progress updates, and handover reviews.Managing and coordinating supply chain partners to ensure they meet agreed performance and quality standards.Promoting the values and culture of AECOM and Shell Mobility in every aspect of your work.

QualificationsAt least 5 years of experience in construction or site management.Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).Strong understanding of HSSE leadership and compliance.Experience managing multiple sites or fast-track rollout programs.A confident communicator with solid client and stakeholder management skills.A construction or engineering qualification, or equivalent practical experience.Good computer skills, particularly Excel and Word.A full driving license and willingness to travel frequently across the Benelux region.

Nice to Have

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Experience in fuel retail, mobility, or EV infrastructure projects.Experience in delivering multi-site (retail) projects or programs.
