Construction Laborer
**Job Title: Construction Laborer** **Job Description** The Technician will support remediation work that includes construction tasks such as clearing and grubbing, installation of erosion control materials, soil excavation, grading, dewatering, backfilling, truck scaling, equipment decontamination, and restoration efforts. The technician will assist in spotting equipment operators, performing torch cutting on steel, and completing general labor tasks on the work site, including carrying materials, dirt work, and shoveling material. **Responsibilities** + Support remediation work with various construction tasks. + Spot equipment operators and perform torch cutting on steel. + Carry materials, perform dirt work, and shovel material. + Assist in soil excavation, grading, dewatering, and backfilling. + Participate in equipment decontamination and restoration efforts. **Essential Skills** + Previous construction/civil experience with outdoor work involving dirt. + Ability to lift 75 lbs. independently. + Willingness to travel 75% of the time, with weekends at home. + Operating experience with heavy equipment such as excavators and dozers. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 40 Hour Hazwoper certification is a plus but not required for this project. + Environmental experience is desirable. **Why Work Here?** This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects in an outdoor environment. Employees are expected to work through wet conditions in a dirty outdoor environment. The dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans without holes, and a shirt with sleeves. Work hours are typically Monday to Friday with a start time between 5-7 am, lasting for 10-12 hours per day. Saturday work is possible, with an expected workweek of 50-60+ hours when out of town, including 5-20 overtime hours per week. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
