Job DescriptionAECOM Transportation is seeking out an enthusiastic and qualified Construction Inspector / Technician to join the Kentucky team.
Step into Your New Role as a Construction Inspector, you will perform general construction inspection tasks to verify compliance standards codes, and ordinances, zoning regulations, as well as contract plans, specifications, and special provisions. Projects will consist of bridges, roadways, and environmental components to these services. Requires flexibility with working schedule as often subject to contractor timelines. This role involves inspection of roadway and bridge construction within Kentucky.
Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety and code requirements. Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation. General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.Understanding of highway construction and specifications.QualificationsMinimum Requirements
High School diploma + 4 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid Drivers LicensePreferred Qualifications
Familiarity with KYTC Construction Specifications.Have necessary certifications from KYTC to perform inspection.Nice to have Certificates:
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I: For testing plastic concrete.Aggregate Sampling Technician: For sampling construction aggregates.Grade Level I & II Technician: For soil, embankment, and subgrade inspection using nuclear gauges.Asphalt Field Technician: For monitoring asphalt paving operations.Structures Inspection Level I: Two-day course for bridge/culvert construction, requiring ACI and Grade I prerequisites.KEPSC-RI (Kentucky Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control - Inspector): Mandatory for erosion control compliance.Work Zone Traffic Control Technician/Supervisor: For traffic management.Roadside Barrier Installation & Inspection: One-day course for guardrail and barrier inspection.Utility Coordination Certification: Required for consultants interacting with utility facilities.Additional InformationThis role does not provide Visa Sponsorship, nor will it in the future.
