Construction Inspector
Job Title: Construction Inspector Job Description This role involves developing technical project reports and memorandums, assisting with the development of project work plans, and ensuring that all engineering drawings and documents are current. You will be responsible for maintaining records, overseeing quality control plans, and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and health and safety guidelines. Responsibilities + Develop technical project reports and technical memorandums. + Assist in the development of project work plans and cost estimates. + Maintain records and oversee the documentation of engineering-related production problems and resolutions. + Assist with and assure the adherence to quality control plans. + Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and health and safety guidelines. + Support efforts to develop and maintain project work plans. + Communicate task status and support internal project communication. Essential Skills + 2 years of experience in Construction Inspection. + Certifications such as MDOT Density Technology Certification, Michigan Concrete Field Testing, and Storm Water Management - Construction Site Certification. + Civil engineering or construction engineering experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + MDOT Bituminous Paving / Michigan Bituminous Paving Operations Certification. + Michigan Certified Aggregate Technician. + Michigan Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) – Plan Review and Design Certification. + A clean driving record. Work Environment The role involves working outdoors at road/highway construction job sites, with occasional office meetings and work. Office tasks can be completed during downtime in the field using in-vehicle Wi-Fi. Inspectors typically work 10-hour days, 5 days a week, with occasional weekend work depending on workload. No overnight travel is required, and most job sites will be in the Metro Detroit area. Candidates will be provided with company vehicles equipped with Wi-Fi. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
