Job Description:

Parsons is anticipating a Construction Health & Safety Lead role in Dublin, Ireland. In this role you will lead health, safety, and wellbeing assurance during the construction phase in line with the client’s “Target Zero” objectives, ensuring legal and client compliance and coordinating key stakeholders across all works.

What You'll Be Doing:

Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and associated regulations.

Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Construction Safety and Health Plan, ensuring it is site‑specific, comprehensive, and communicated.

Review PSDP preliminary plans and verify coverage of high‑risk activities, site protocols, emergency arrangements, and concurrent activities.

Coordinate with contractors on safe systems of work, access control, welfare facilities, and worker competence (e.g. Safe Pass, CSCS).

Establish and coordinate appointment of Site Safety Representatives and Safety Advisors where required.

Conduct regular inspections and audits, drive corrective actions, and maintain all H&S documentation.

Manage HSA notifications, incident and accident reporting, and liaise with HSA inspectors.

Monitor contractor compliance, facilitate cooperation and information sharing, and provide safety file inputs to the PSDP.

Notify the client and HSA of significant non‑compliance where required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Safety and Health qualifications (e.g. degree, diploma).

Safe Pass / CSCS Card (or equivalent).

Managing Safety in Construction IOSH.

15+ years’ health and safety experience, including 7+ years on major infrastructure/engineering projects, ideally rail.

Proven leadership and management of H&S on large, complex projects.

Able to identify Health & Safety performance indicators.

Excellent written communications and interpersonal skills.

Strong influencing and leadership skills.

Team player, self‑motivated and able to work using own initiative.

Ability to manage difficult and competing stakeholders’ interests.

Excellent organizational skills with a positive, flexible work attitude.

Ability to work to strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.

Professional Memberships

Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health or other relevant professional bodies, with commitment to Continual Professional Development.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Additional or higher‑level safety, health, or construction‑related qualifications and continued professional training.
