Job DescriptionThe Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking experienced Construction Field Inspectors to support large-scale transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Baltimore area. These roles will involve field inspection services on complex projects, including roadway, bridge, and other transportation improvements, with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulationsIdentify and document non-conformances to plans and specificationsReview plans and construction documentationPerform material testing and inspection on materials and equipment to ensure compliance with plans and specificationsPrepare detailed daily inspection reportsCommunicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding inspection findingsCollaborate with the Project Team to resolve construction issues to ensure timely project completionMonitor and report on project progress, including schedule adherence and milestone achievementsConduct pre-construction meetings and participate in regular project meetingsEnsure proper implementation of environmental protection measures and erosion control practicesMaintain accurate and organized project files, including photographs, correspondence, and technical dataStay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in construction inspectionMentor and provide guidance to junior inspectors as neededQualificationsMinimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED plus 4 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience on transportation-related projects, including roadways, bridges, rail, and tunnelsU.S. Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the workRequired to hold, or successfully obtain within an established timeframe, certifications in concrete testing, compaction (asphalt, soils, and aggregate), E&S, and work zone MOTKnowledge of construction plans, standards, specifications, and regulationsProficiency in using inspection tools and applicationsPreferred Qualifications:
NICET (any level)Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or Construction ManagementDemonstrated attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve problems effectivelyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new applications as requiredAdditional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this position
