An established construction services firm that manages bids, proposals, and project estimating for commercial and residential work. They use modern estimating platforms and have an in‑house estimator team to produce and finalize proposals. The company values fast, accurate estimates to reduce backlog and increase bid conversion.

Why does this role exist?
We’re hiring a dedicated estimating resource to take on the volume of quantity takeoffs and produce initial, accurate estimates so the internal estimator can focus on review and finalization. The primary objective is to reduce backlog and speed up turnaround of proposals to improve conversion and business throughput. This role ensures estimates are delivered promptly and to the level of detail required for in‑office review each business day

The Impact you’ll makeQuantity Takeoffs\nPerform detailed quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications using established methods and SOPs.\nVerify measurements, material lists, and quantities for all assigned scopes.\nProduce organized takeoff files ready for estimator review.\nInitial Estimating & Proposals\nPrepare initial cost estimates and proposals using company cost data and estimating tools.\nPopulate Procore estimate modules and proposal templates as required.\nApply company-specific cost assumptions and escalate unclear items per SOP.\nHandoffs & Collaboration\nDeliver completed takeoffs and initial estimates to the internal estimator (Brian) for same‑day review.\nMaintain clear, concise handoff notes and status updates so reviewers can act quickly.\nCoordinate with reviewers (Brian and Bryan) to resolve questions and incorporate feedback.\nVolume & Accuracy Management\nMaintain daily throughput to reduce backlog while keeping error rates within acceptable limits.\nTrack and report outstanding clarifications and assumptions needed to finalize proposals.\nPrioritize work to meet deadlines and support outreach KPI timelines.\nProcess Adherence & Continuous Improvement\nFollow provided SOPs and participate in onboarding/training on company-specific tools and costs.\nSuggest improvements to estimating templates, checklists, or workflows based on recurring issues.\nKeep estimating files organized and audit-ready for reviewer checks.\n

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseRequired:\nPrior hands-on construction estimating and quantity takeoff experience (commercial/residential).\nProficiency with Procore estimating and quantity takeoff workflows.\nStrong mathematical skills and attention to detail; degree in math/construction/related field preferred.\nAble to work US Eastern Time business hours and coordinate with in‑office estimator team.\nDemonstrated ability to produce accurate takeoffs with minimal training.
