We’re looking for a Construction Estimator in the Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and civil construction industry.
Our client is a well-established General Contractor based in Northern British Columbia, delivering commercial and industrial construction projects. With a strong backlog of work and continued growth, they are looking to add an Estimator who will play a key role in pricing, planning, and supporting successful project delivery.
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting tender submissions, and collaborating closely with project management and field teams.
Estimator responsibilities: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to understand project scope and risks Perform quantity take-offs and pricing analysis Solicit, review, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers Complete value engineering and constructability reviews Prepare tender submissions and budget estimates Identify cost risks, constraints, and opportunities for savings Maintain historical cost data and estimating documentation Support project handover to the project management team Assist with change order pricing and cost tracking as required The successful candidate has: Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline 2+ years of experience in construction estimating Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, BC building codes, and cost structures Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with MS Project or Procore is an asset Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment Collaborative, team-oriented mindset Compensation and benefits: The discussed salary range is $60,000 – $80,000 CAD, depending on experience Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may be considered Health and dental benefits Excellent work/life balance Long-term opportunity with a reputable General Contractor, with clear potential for career growth and development
