Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with over three years of experience in preconstruction. The role involves leading estimates on commercial construction projects ranging from $5M to $10M, while also supporting larger pursuits up to $20M+. The ideal candidate will be skilled in quantity takeoffs, bid preparation, and cost modeling from conceptual through GMP phases. A proven ability to interpret construction documents, collaborate in small estimating teams, and utilize electronic estimating tools such as Destini Estimator is essential. A background with general contractors or specialty subcontractors like drywall, concrete, MEP, or civil is preferred.

ResponsibilitiesLead estimates for projects in the $5M–$10M range and support larger pursuits up to $20M+.Prepare and compile bid packages.Perform quantity takeoffs and develop estimates from conceptual through GMP phases.Collaborate with a small, close-knit estimating team (3–4 people).Assist in growing the office’s project volume and client base.Essential Skills3+ years of experience in preconstruction or estimating.Background with a general contractor or subcontractor (e.g., drywall, concrete, civil, mechanical, or electrical).Comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.Familiarity with electronic estimating software, transitioning to Destini Estimator.Additional Skills & QualificationsExcellent communication and collaboration skills.Strong initiative and go-getter attitude.Work Environment

The office has been a cornerstone of the company's presence in Southern Colorado since 1994, serving communities across the Four Corners region. The team specializes in a wide range of construction projects, including multifamily, commercial, medical, and educational sectors. Notable recent work includes the Gauge West Apartments and a new downtown fire station for the Durango Fire Protection District. The office is known for its innovative approach, regional impact, and long-standing commitment to quality and community. It offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. The team consists of about 40 people, including a Preconstruction Manager, an Estimator transitioning to Project Manager, and two mid-to-senior level Estimators.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
