**Job Description:**
This job is responsible for performing more complex analysis and modeling to minimize loss exposure and negative impacts to the customer experience. Key responsibilities include utilizing a variety of systems such as Excel, SAS, SQL, Tableau, and other relational data bases to provide analytical support on strategies, ensure goals are met, and propose policy and procedural changes within segmentation structures to produce optimal results. Job expectations include evaluating data to assess potential fraud risk and create mitigation strategies.

**LOB Specific Description**
This position requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics and an ability to independently drive strategic improvements. One of the primary responsibilities of a strategy validation analyst is the design of Quality Assurance reporting used to test the effectiveness of new initiatives prior to them being promoted to production within our Strategy Decision Engine. The Validation Analyst is responsible for the development of reporting using SAS Enterprise Guide based on business requirements provided by change owner and test plan/scripts created within the team. SAS Reports are leveraged to identify potential defects across new initiatives prior to implementation. Depending on the change, this can include modifying existing code that is very macro heavy or developing new codes.
Strategy Validation Analysts are also responsible for the development of performance reporting to support our Decision Strategy Governance Process. Performance reporting provides on-going monitoring and tracking for 27 strategies across Credit Assistance. Analyst will work closely with partners to ensure key performance metrics are still relevant and handle coding re-design and/or re-builds as needed.
Analyst must be flexible and have experience working in a fast paced & high pressure environment as the role requires management of multiple projects at once.
**Responsibilities:**
Develop and maintain complex SAS queries to extract, transform and manipulate data from various sources including Teradata, ReportNet, Oracle, etc.
Create clear and concise reports to communicate findings and actionable insights using SAS
Leverage advanced SAS coding expertise to conduct in-depth data analysis, interpret results and identify key trends and opportunities
Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand business needs and create innovative analytical solutions that drive strategic decision-making.
**Required Qualifications**
+ 4+ years demonstrating strong proficiency in utilizing data mining/analytics/reporting through SAS Enterprise Guide/SQL
+ Experienced with the bank’s data structure including Hadoop, SQL Server, Teradata, and Oracle
+ Highly motivated, proactive and a self-starter; strong sense of ownership & ability to create and execute plans without daily oversight
+ Detailed oriented
+ Analytical skills
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
+ Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills (verbal & written)
**Desired Qualifications**
+ Proficiency in advanced SAS coding techniques, including data manipulation, macro programming, and statistical analysis
+ Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
+ Prior banking or collections experience preferred
