You will work under the guidance of senior chefs to ensure high standards of taste, presentation, hygiene, and consistency\. This role is ideal for those passionate about Indian cuisine and looking to build a professional career in the culinary industry\. **What will I be doing?** As the Commis Indian Chef, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: - Assist in the daily preparation and cooking of a variety of traditional and regional Indian dishes \(including North and South Indian\)\. - Prepare mise en place: chopping vegetables, marinating meats, grinding spices, making dough for naan/paratha/roti, etc\. - Support the Tandoor section with preparation and basic operation \(e\.g\., skewering, marinating, learning tandoor handling\)\. - Assist in the preparation of buffet, à la carte, banquets, and special function menus\. - Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to the recipes and hotel standards\. - Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization in the workstation at all times\. - Comply with HACCP and food safety standards during food storage, preparation, and service\. - Label and date all food items appropriately and ensure proper stock rotation \(FIFO\)\. - Minimize food waste and contribute to kitchen efficiency and sustainability efforts\. - Communicate effectively with team members and senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations\. - Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and raw materials, checking quality and quantity\. - Follow instructions from senior chefs and proactively learn new cooking techniques\. - Support other kitchen sections when needed and be flexible with assigned tasks\. - Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly after use\. - Report any maintenance issues or shortages in stock to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef\. **What are we looking for?** + A Commis Indian Chef serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members\.
