Role Summary As an engineer focusing on test execution and connectivity integration for the Connectivity Software team at Rivian, you will work alongside software developers, systems integrators, and system engineers to test and integrate features such as WiFi, cellular, Ethernet and GPS domains along with telemetry, mobile app integration, and Internet-dependent vehicle features. The connectivity test and integration engineer will primarily create and execute formal tests of connectivity features on vehicle and bench environments. The connectivity test and integration engineer will own the execution and reporting of test milestones such as daily smoke tests, end-to-end release tests, and pre-release regression tests. The connectivity test and integration engineer may also support other vehicle development activities which require connectivity support. These development activities may include drives in preproduction vehicles and will provide exposure to vehicle networks, cloud connectivity, and fleet management. Arrive at the office after letting the vehicle build soak overnight on the fleet vehicle; during your commute, you are also executing smoke tests and observing connected features to identify any feature regressions. Analyze overnight test data and publish the nightly report across distribution channels. Execute more detailed tests in the lab or in the vehicle as feature builds are ready. Support other systems integrators with investigation of field issues; attempt to replicate scenarios using the lab or the vehicle. Core capabilities and behaviors should include: Strong fundamentals for test execution and documentation Test environment setup and configuration to include vehicle, bench, and lab setups; be comfortable with following a schematic and assembling a lab from a bill of materials The ability to correlate meaningful feedback from disparate data sets Keen observation skills of wireless (WiFi, 5G, LTE, GPS, Bluetooth) behavior and performance; know the difference between signal strength and link speed Ability to identify and distinguish issues in hardware and/or software Engage in discussions to test, bug fix, and optimize feature development based on data Qualifications A degree in either Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Information Systems Experience with test management suites such as TestRail, JAMA, Allure, or Zephyr Experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence) A theoretical or working understanding of the OSI model and network protocols Basic proficiency with scripting languages including Python and/or Shell Basic proficiency with database manipulation and data presentation Ability to thrive under pressure and time constraints Availability to travel and/or support activities during off-peak hours as-needed Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $107,000 - $145,400 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
