Position Summary
Thales Canada Inc. is looking for a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist to support its Development and In-Service Support programs. As a CM Specialist you will be responsible for supporting CM initiatives on projects and act as a strategic contributor for establishing product baselines. In this role you will work with and support multiple teams to ensure the integrity of changes to data and information are defined, traceable and visible throughout their lifecycles. As the primary CM contact, the successful candidate will leverage their knowledge and experience to drive CM priorities through a structure governance framework.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Support Configuration Management (CM) and Engineering Management change processes. Maintain the lifecycle accuracy and visibility of configuration items (CI), and revise As-Built records based on change effectivity.Evaluate and organize multiple types and volumes of CI data. Perform configuration audits and communicate to affected groups. Assist with CM procedures maintenance; Lead or support the FCA/PCA activities as required.Chair/lead Configuration Control/Change Boards (CCBs). Identify and resolve technical data baseline discrepancies and gaps. Coordinate and control the release of products.Help determine and incorporate redline changes to technical drawing. Champion the implementation of CM processes, improvements and tools. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Participate in Process Improvement initiatives related to change and CM management.Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, Science or related field from a recognized institution3+years work experience as a Configuration Management Specialist in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.Strong understanding of technical design change management principals. Firm knowledge of ILS parts and material change protocols. Ability to read and interpret drawings. Understand BOMs and equipment family treesProficiency performing configuration verifications and audits. Experience incorporating and managing technical documentation changes. Knowledge of Configuration Management standards EIA-649 and/or ISO100007.Familiarity with software PLM tools for managing technical data (SAP, Maximo, Wind-chill, JIRA).If you’re excited about working with Thales, but not meeting the requirements for this position, we encourage you to join our Talent Community!
Special Position Requirements
Schedule: 40 hours weekly Monday through Friday.
Physical Environment: Onsite and remote in Ottawa or Halifax or Victoria.
Travel: Occasional domestic travel may be required.
