Configuration Management Engineer
Job Title: Configuration Management Engineer

Job Description

This role involves significant work with CAD PLM systems, including integrating PLM systems with customers. The position requires heavy travel, up to 50%, to international locations such as Australia, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea. You will conduct a detailed assessment of CAD and PLM solutions used across the shipbuilding industry, analyzing their interoperability, scalability, and alignment with lean manufacturing and systems lifecycle goals. Collaboration with major shipbuilders and government stakeholders is essential to recommend and support the deployment of modern, integrated digital toolchains. This position is ideal for someone comfortable working at the intersection of digital engineering, enterprise tool evaluation, and real-world production integration within a maritime or large-scale manufacturing environment.

Essential SkillsExperience with CAD PLM Integration, including systems like Teamcenter and Windchill.Working knowledge of CAD software such as Creo and NX.Background in aerospace or defense industry.5–10+ years of experience with CAD/PLM systems in large-scale engineering or manufacturing.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience developing and integrating for the Navy.Prior collaboration with shipyards, integrators, or program offices on digital toolchain modernization.Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting, working with cross-functional teams. You will partner closely with the head of project management and engage in significant travel. When not traveling, work hours are 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, 100% onsite to ensure access to the necessary systems. The role involves interfacing heavily with customers in this space and offers exposure to a wide variety of defense projects.

This is a Contract position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
