**Description**
SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Configuration Management Specialist** to join our team in **Crane, IN** . The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling the configuration of our products and systems throughout their lifecycle. This role requires a strong understanding of configuration management principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to ensuring product quality, consistency, and traceability.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Data Management and Control:Administer and maintain the IPDM (Integrated Product Data Management) system. Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility for all users.Manage the drawing and document upload process, ensuring compliance with established naming conventions, revision control procedures, and data storage standards.Maintain the accuracy and completeness of product part maintenance data within the IPDM system, including bills of materials (BOMs), component specifications, and vendor information.Generate and manage Topdown Breakdown Reports to provide clear visibility into product structure and dependencies.
+ Change Management:Process and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) , ensuring proper review, approval, and implementation.Create and manage Notice of Revisions (NORs) to communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.Manage Request for Variance (RFVs) , ensuring thorough evaluation, documentation, and approval in accordance with established procedures.Document Control and Versioning:Implement and maintain a robust version control system for all engineering drawings, documents, and software.Manage the workflow for document reviews , ensuring timely and thorough review and approval by appropriate stakeholders.
+ Auditing and Compliance:Plan, coordinate, and participate in Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) to verify that products meet specified requirements and documentation accurately reflects the delivered configuration.
+ Repair Traveler Management:Manage and maintain the Repair Traveler process
+ Other Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain configuration management procedures and documentation.
Provide training and support to users on configuration management tools and processes.
Identify and implement improvements to configuration management processes.
Participate in cross-functional teams to support product development and manufacturing activities.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Generate configuration management reports as required.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years or more experience.
2-3 years preferred in document control or related field.
2+ years of experience in Configuration Management, Document Control, or a related field.
Experience with IPDM/PLM systems.
Experience with change management processes.
Experience with auditing and compliance activities.
Skills:
Strong understanding of configuration management principles and practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
**Desired Qualifications:**
Experience supporting NAVAIR workload.
Certification in Configuration Management (CMPIC or similar).
Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
