Conference & Events Manager - NT Cluster

  A  Conference and Events Manager Manager - NT Cluster with Hilton Hotels and Resorts leads and manages both team and commercial performance of the event sales, event planning , groups teams.

What will I be doing?

\n

As Conference and Events Manager for the NT Cluster of Hotels , you will manage the  Conference & Event teams to actively convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales, and ensuring we provide exceptional guest experiences for our groups, events and individual travellers when staying with us in-house in our 4 hotels within the cluster being Hilton Darwin, DoubleTree by Hilton Darwin, . HIlton garden Inn - Darwin and DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n

\n\n\n

Maximise all  Conference and Event commercial opportunities

\n\n\n

Review business plans, identify gaps and ensure proactive efforts to fill capacity and meet commercial targets

\n\n\n

Strategically contribute to the commercial strategy of the hotels, and manage the departments’ adherence to achieving that strategy

\n\n\n

Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market

\n\n\n

Ensure that the teams actively account manage the hotels regular event clients

\n\n\n

Lead the  conference and  events  teams effectively and support culture of high quality team and commercial standards, including but not limited to relationship building, exceptional customer service, and profit focus.

\n\n\n

Lead and develop the Event Sales Team to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within the hotel and company

\n\n\n

Support and organise hotel promotional activities 

\n\n\n

\n\nDemonstrated experience in a Conference and Events Sales function in the hotel / leisure sector\nStrong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges \nExcellent sales and conversion capability  and an ability and desire to coach selling techniques to the team and measure success \nExcellent planning and organising skills\nAbility to accept responsibility and is resilient in the face of setbacks\nAbility to work under pressure and deliver results \nFlexibility to respond to a range of differnet work situations  \n\n

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

\n\nKnowledge of hotel property management systems \nPrevuiois experience in a siliar role\n\n
