**Job Title: Concrete Finisher** **Job Description** Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor for concrete projects, including cleaning and preparing job sites, digging trenches, and setting braces to support form work. Understand and execute concrete procedures to meet project specifications. Set forms that hold concrete in place, and pour, smooth, and level concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed. Ensure poured concrete is laid and finished to the highest standard, and operate equipment as needed. **Responsibilities** + Prepare job sites by cleaning and digging trenches. + Set braces to support form work. + Understand and execute concrete procedures according to project specifications. + Set forms to hold concrete in place. + Pour, smooth, and level concrete using appropriate tools. + Ensure high standards in laying and finishing poured concrete. + Operate equipment as necessary. **Essential Skills** + 2+ years of experience in concrete finishing. + Experience working on city sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. + WHMIS and CSTS certifications. + Ability to push, pull, move, and lift up to 50 pounds. + Experience with pulling screed, running a float, and cutting joints. + Experience with flat work, construction, finishing, flatwork, and formwork. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Leadership experience in running crews. + Valid Fall Protection and Confined Space Training certificates are assets. + Ability to layout and install concrete rebar. + Ability to interpret blueprints and shop drawings. + Willingness to work Saturdays during the busy season. **Why Work Here?** We offer opportunities for career advancement and invest in training and certifications throughout your career. Opportunities for out-of-town work with per diem and overtime are available during the busy season. **Work Environment** Work in teams ranging from 2 to over 20 people, reporting to the site foreman. Projects are outdoors, so you must be able to work in all weather conditions that permit concrete pouring. Most projects are in town, with occasional out-of-town work. Work hours typically start at 7:00 am and can extend to 5:00 pm, with common overtime of 50-60 hours per week during busy seasons.
