We're looking for a skilled Concrete Estimator to join our commercial construction team! In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids by reviewing project plans, specifications, and requirements. You'll play a key part in making sure our bids are thorough, cost-effective, and in line with both company standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare clear, detailed, and timely estimates and bids for commercial construction projects. Perform precise quantity take-offs and develop project budgets. Review and interpret contractual terms and conditions. Solicit, evaluate, and organize subcontractor and supplier quotes; negotiate pricing; issue purchase orders and subcontracts. Maintain and update cost databases for materials, labor, and equipment. Conduct site visits to gather accurate data for estimating. Analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine time, cost, material, and labor needs. Use company estimating software to prepare proposals. Stay current with building codes and apply that knowledge in your estimates. Support and uphold company safety policies and practices. Take on additional duties as needed.Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. At least 5 years of construction industry experience required; estimating experience strongly preferred. Experience with schematic design and design development budgeting is a plus. Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required). Strong ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications. Solid understanding of building codes and construction practices. Strong math skills (arithmetic, algebra, and geometry). Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environmentWhat's in it for you?:
