Field Computer Specialist Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain maximum uptime for computer systems and associated broadband connectivity
Implement and maintain field computer systems for all entities within the assigned area
Support and train users as needed
Distinguish between user error and problems requiring escalation to software vendors
Identify and coordinate solutions for security gaps and compliance issues
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
In addition to technical responsibilities, the Field Computer Specialist will support store operations by acting as a field relief manager when needed. This includes providing coverage during store manager vacations/coverage
Work hours are scheduled Monday through Saturday, with an expected weekly total of 40–50 hours based on business needs.
Field Computer Specialist Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with technologies such as administration, security monitoring equipment, storage gates, alarm systems, doors, digital video equipment, printers, computers, VOIP, analog phones, air phones, and cash drawers
Current, valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Compensation for this role ranges
From $25 to $30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Work Environment:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
