This role will be based in our Model Farm Road - Cork site. Support CAE activates in the area of structural mechanics leveraging industry leading FEA tools together with hands on material and or product testing to validate the models and build confidence in the results generated. They will be responsible for planning and execution within an ongoing project. They will need to interface with and report to stakeholders to acquire the necessary information to deliver a successful result for the project and to build the competence and reputation of the simulation and test engineering group in the Neurovascular division.
Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2026 Cooperative cohort.
Tasks and responsibilities may include:
Support project activities through simulation and testing
Ensure quality of deliverables for self as well as the team
Perform simulations and develop critical insights regarding the product performance.
Contribute to capability building by identifying potential areas and developing capabilities.
Ensure simulations are meeting regulatory requirements by adopting ASME V&V40 guidelines.
Liaison with team members as well as stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and maintaining timelines
Extract and process test data/findings into both formal written and verbal reports which comply with FDA requirements and appropriate engineering standards
Comply with documentation procedures and maintain test laboratory housekeeping standards to the highest level
Effectively adapts to practically working in a workplace by being dependable, punctual, initiative-taking, hardworking, organised and a team-player
What you will need:
Good command over solid mechanics.
Understanding of material properties
Awareness and ideally experience with CAE packages such as SolidWorks, Ansys, ABAQUS, Altair Radioss and HyperMesh.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical skills
Effective interpersonal, communications skills and demonstrated track of having worked in a global team setup
