About the RoleYou will be part of the Computational Modeling team within Innovation & Design, supporting projects across all Philips businesses. Our work spans small therapeutic devices, large-scale imaging systems, and consumer health products. Projects can be short-term or long-term, and you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, product experts, and scientists.
Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to R&D projects through computational modeling, applied physics, and biomedical engineering.Translate simulation results into actionable design recommendations for real-world applications.Develop and apply innovative modeling techniques, including AI-based approaches.Work with cross-functional teams to deliver optimal designs and accelerate development cycles.Expand the team's modeling capabilities and remain at the forefront of technological developments.Required QualificationsPhD in Applied Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (MSc with 3–5 years relevant experience will also be considered).Proven expertise in at least two applied physics domains such as Transport Phenomena, Wave Propagation, Electromagnetics, Acoustics, or Plasma Physics.Strong background in physics-based modeling, computational modeling, and numerical methods.Experience with commercial tools (e.g., Star-CCM+, Ansys/Multiphysics, Comsol) and/or open source tools (e.g., OpenFoam, ElmerFEM).Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of biomedical sciences, physiology, and medical technology.2-3 years of industrial experience in the relevant fieldsProgramming skills in Java, C/C++, and/or proficiency in Python, Matlab, Mathematica.Familiarity with AI-enhanced modeling techniques.Innovative, creative thinker with a flexible and proactive mindset.How we work togetherWe believe that we are better together than apart.
