Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Compounding Pharmacy Technician Location: Downtown PHX Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting critical pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and dispense medications accurately in compliance with state and federal regulations, including USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards. + Manage automated dispensing systems (Omnicell/Pyxis), ensuring proper stocking and functionality. + Deliver medications promptly to clinical areas to support efficient patient care. + Maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring availability and accuracy. + Participate in quality assurance initiatives and maintain required documentation. + Provide clerical and administrative support to ensure smooth pharmacy operations. + Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote safe and coordinated care. + Maintain aseptic technique and handle controlled substances responsibly. + Stay current with departmental updates and complete required educational modules. + Opportunity for cross-training in specialty areas such as outpatient neurology infusion and inpatient pharmacy. Required Skills & Experience: + Active CPhT certification + Minimum 1 year of infusion compounding experience + Must have experience with Omnicell or Pyxis automated shelving systems + Proficiency in compounding, data entry, medication processing, and inventory management + IV/Chemotherapy compounding experience preferred Work Environment: + Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM + Hazardous chemotherapy compounding is performed at the main hospital and couriered to the cancer center daily Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
