Compounding Pharmacy TechnicianPosition Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic pharmaceutical team. This role involves performing hazardous sterile and non-hazardous compounding tasks, with a focus on testosterone formulations prepared using a seed oil base. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a clean, compliant environment aligned with USP and standards, as well as supporting documentation and inventory operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesExecute sterile and non-sterile compounding with strict adherence to safety protocolsPrepare testosterone-based formulations using seed oil as a delivery mediumMaintain a clean and organized compounding space, ensuring routine disinfection per USP /Document compounding processes including batch records, cleaning logs, and quality control checksContribute to quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programsAssist with inventory management: receiving, labeling, and stocking materialsRequired Skills & CertificationsProven experience in pharmacy compoundingFamiliarity and compliance with USP and standardsPTCB certification (required)Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of TennesseeExperience with both sterile and nonsterile compounding processesPreferred QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of compounding experience (5+ years preferred)Background in hospital pharmacy (preferred but not mandatory)Interest in or aptitude for leadership rolesExperience compounding multiple drug typesWork EnvironmentFast-paced, collaborative settingSchedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM (will vary slightly each day)Team: 6 pharmacists within a 30-person staffLocation: 5,000 sq ft facility undergoing a 4,000 sq ft expansionEquipment: 6 cleanroom hoods currently, with 8 additional hoods being installed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
