Component Test Engineer - Rail Traction Components

Position Overview:


“Rapid expansion in the rail industry means we need a skilled test engineer—are you the one?”

The Test Engineer will play a key role in introducing and producing rail components at Siemens Rail Components in Alpharetta, GA. This position works with teams in the U.S. and abroad to localize international test setups, provide technical guidance, and streamline testing processes for rail components.


What your day-to-day will look like:


Responsible for all test infrastructureTroubleshooting equipment malfunctionDefining and implementing equipment maintenanceTest infrastructure improvement plansResponsible for New Product Introduction Review Test Requirements and ensure local infrastructure is adequatebuild / edit test proceduresimplement test programs in LabVIEWConfirm accurate tester proficiencies to test new products. If required, facilitates vital trainingProvides feedback for the creation and maintenance of test APIsInternal and Customer FAI supportAttend Internal and Customer FAIs to support any questions regarding test infrastructure.Continuous ImprovementWork with Manufacturing Engineering to define opportunities for reducing routed hours, increasing ergonomics, improving tester safety, and favorably impacting our sustainability efforts


To thrive in this role, you have:


Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering Minimum of five years related work experienceNational Instruments LabVIEW experience Some travel anticipated Experience in a manufacturing environment Effective interpersonal skills (written and verbal) Experience writing and editing requirement documents, test plans, and work instructions


What will make you stand out:


Experience with PLC programming Knowledge of the locomotive and rail market in the United States or an eagerness to learn if this background does not exist Experience in project engineering Experience working on international teams or in an international environment

The pay range for this position is $89,300.00 - $105,000.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
