Job Title:  MRB Design Engineer

Working Pattern: Hybrid/Onsite 3 days/week

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

As a Material Review Board (MRB) Design Engineer you will be a part of the Production Improvement Engineering Team, responsible for providing engineering input on non-conforming products. You will provide engineering support for production parts made by the internal plants and from vendors over a variety of Supply Chain Units (SCUs), resulting in a tangible impact on engine and spares delivery. You will support a variety of commodities, with flexibility to work on structures & transmissions, rotatives, turbines, or compressors, depending upon the needs of the business and relevant experience.

The team has embraced hybrid working and there are opportunities to work from other Indianapolis sites and remotely. The team’s primary location is co-located with operations at the Excellence Building. There you will have the opportunity to see hardware and interface with the manufacturing and assembly teams.

What you will be doing:

Here, you’ll have the opportunity to work on the following:

Engineer assessing MRB and production issues that require collaboration with a variety of other business units and disciplines such as Performance, Thermals, Air Systems, Materials, Dynamics, Component Stress, Manufacturing, Production, and Inspection as requiredStrong contributor that is able to represent design engineering during urgent manufacturing issuesBuilds engineering justification for disposition of non-conformances to be captured in Technical Analysis Reports (TARs)Responsible for assessment and execution of Tooling Layout (TLO) RequestsIdentifies and implements improvement projects to help factories flowAssesses non-conforming hardware against engineering acceptance criteria

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering OR;A Masters degree in Engineering with 0+ years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing EngineeringIn order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred:

Experience with assessment of nonconforming hardware and aerospace industry MRB processesPossesses strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environmentTechnical writing and communication experienceDesign experience from multiple component areas (i.e. compressor and turbine statics, rotatives, structures, etc)Design experience in Aerospace, or Production support in similar or other industry such as automotive
