As a Material Review Board (MRB) Design Engineer you will be a part of the Production Improvement Engineering Team, responsible for providing engineering input on non-conforming products. You will provide engineering support for production parts made by the internal plants and from vendors over a variety of Supply Chain Units (SCUs), resulting in a tangible impact on engine and spares delivery.

You will have flexibility to work on structures & transmissions, turbines, or compressors, depending upon the needs of the business and relevant experience. The team’s primary location is co-located with operations at the Excellence Building. There you will have the opportunity to see hardware and interface with the manufacturing and assembly teams.

What you will be doing:

Engineer assessing complex MRB and production issues that require collaboration with a variety of other business units and disciplines such as Performance, Thermals, Air Systems, Materials, Dynamics, Component Stress, Manufacturing, Production, and Inspection as requiredKey delegate that is able to represent RRC engineering during urgent manufacturing issuesBuilds engineering justification for disposition of non-conformances to be captured in Technical Analysis Reports (TARs)Responsible for assessment and execution of Tooling Layout (TLO) RequestsIdentifies and leads improvement projects to help factories flowAssesses non-conforming hardware against engineering acceptance criteria

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering ORA Masters degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering ORJD/PhDIn order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred:

Experience with the Rolls-Royce Indianapolis MRB Web App and general MRB processesPossesses strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environmentTechnical writing and communication experienceExperience reviewing and approving technical documentsDesign experience from multiple component areas (i.e. compressor and turbine statics, rotatives, structures, etc.)
