An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Component Design Engineer to join Rolls-Royce within Inchinnan. The Component Design Engineer is part of the Global Mechanical Systems Capability function.
The Component Design Engineer shall create engineering solutions that satisfy functional and physical requirements. Crucially, the engineered solutions must exhibit robustness for manufacturing capability.
The Component Design Engineer is responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of component design definition artefacts i.e. documents, models, definitions that meet the specified requirements.

For the role of Component Design Engineer, we are looking for someone who is/has:
Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience.Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks.Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region. In the UK - attained/ working towards Chartered status is preferred (and equivalent regional variations).Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation.We are an equal opportunities employer.
