Aspirus Health in WAUSAU, WI is seeking a COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST to join our CORPORATE COMPLIANCE team!The Compliance Specialist assists in developing, coordinating, and supporting the Compliance Program, its functions, and activities for Aspirus, Inc.
These functions may focus on one or more major elements of the Compliance Program such as Medicare and Medicaid billing, Stark, Anti-kickback, fraud and abuse, billing and coding, HIPAA privacy and security, managed care compliance, anti-trust, labor and employee relations, environmental health and safety matters, various trade practices, and other specific issues, which may arise. Activities may include conducting education, investigations, audits and monitoring of internal processes and controls to ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
HOURS: Full Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks.
Experience/Qualifications
Associates degree required. Bachelor’s or master’s degree desired. A minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare-related position requiring discretion, initiative, and independent judgment.Minimum three years’ experience in healthcare compliance, including HIPAA, preferred.Certification as a CHC or CHPC is preferred or the ability to obtain certification within 2 years.Demonstrates maturity, and the ability and skill to influence personnel through a collaborative but firm approach to effect change.Requires interviewing skills, critical and analytical thinking skills to conduct compliance investigations and audits and to draft reports. Demonstrates a thorough working understanding of compliance issues, their importance, and consequences.Possesses a thorough understanding of the various functions that comprise the Aspirus system and their related rules and regulations.Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles documentation standards, project management, change management, and auditing.Possess basic knowledge of various coding systems used in healthcare.Possesses detailed knowledge of various payment systems.Computer skills in word processing, Excel spreadsheets and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records. Must be able to organize workload, manage multiple projects, and maintain confidentiality of all work information.Demonstrates organization, facilitation, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.Possesses a valid Driver’s License required.
