You will engage with Tier 2 chemistry and chemical concerns, ensuring a safe workplace for all employees. Responsibilities + Plan, implement, communicate, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations. + Audit various safety program elements for effectiveness and perform safety inspections to identify issues and develop corrective action plans alongside the Director of EHS. + Supervise, control, and monitor fire prevention and firefighting activities. + Investigate all accidents and injuries, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate through root cause analysis completion. + Lead safety training programs designed to instruct employees in general safe work practices and specific instructions regarding hazards unique to any job assignment, and provide training for new employees. + Maintain thorough knowledge of federal and state OSHA regulations, safety codes, and regulations, and distribute new or revised safety standards affecting the company. + Review and respond to OSHA inquiries in partnership with the Director of EHS. + Identify potential safety hazards at all facilities and report hazards with recommendations for eliminating/reducing to management. + Coordinate with other departments on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities, and work methods to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations. + Encourage employees and supervisors to report all unsafe conditions immediately and schedule or coordinate repairs as soon as possible. + Train employees and supervisors to report any injury that occurs on the job immediately. + Maintain records for statistical measurement and conformance to standard practices of the safety industry. + Prepare and maintain required safety reports. + Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of related experience. + Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred in Chemistry or Regulatory. + Experience with stormwater and wastewater management. + Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards. + Proficient in Word, Excel, Visio, and Publisher. + Ability to manage priorities and workflow. + Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Work Environment The role is primarily on-site in Mentor with 10% domestic travel involved. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $98000.00/yr. 100% employer paid medical plan.
