Compliance Officer
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. This role is vital in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies within the wealth management industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in risk assessment, compliance auditing, and anti-money laundering practices to safeguard the organization’s integrity. Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. • Monitor and evaluate risk management processes to identify potential vulnerabilities. • Develop and implement anti-money laundering (AML) strategies to minimize financial crimes. • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance initiatives are effectively integrated. • Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance-related topics and best practices. • Prepare detailed reports on compliance findings and recommend corrective actions. • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the wealth management industry. • Oversee the implementation of compliance programs and assess their effectiveness. • Act as a key point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or inquiries. Requirements • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) is required. • Strong knowledge of audit compliance practices and methodologies. • Expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and strategies. • Proven ability to assess risk and implement effective mitigation measures. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams. • Familiarity with regulations governing the wealth management industry. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
