Compliance Manager EMEA

Reporting to Deputy Regional Compliance Officer EMEA, this role is intended to provide Compliance support in the EMEA region with specific focus on:

Consumer business and projects, especially for wider regional initiatives.EMEA regulatory and efficiency implementation projects that require specific attention Oversee Business Compliance Framework, including the implementation and oversight of IBM OpenPages and supporting protocols.

Support Regional standards including the Consumer risk assessment process and the implementation of EMEA risk assessment framework.

 

Key responsibilities:

The Compliance Manager EMEA will be responsible in particular for:

1.          Business support and Advice:

Coordinate the implementation of regional initiatives, ensuring alignment with local standards and regulatory requirements Partner with key Consumer business stakeholders to enhance end to end Consumer processes and effectively manage market conduct and consumer compliance risksEnsure that all applicable disclosures and relevant information are accurately included in sales panels, websites, claims portals, Ignite, etc.Develop the Consumer Risk Assessment process to identify high-risk programs, track key metrics and monitor volumes over time that pose emerging risks requiring specific attention and focused oversight.

 

2.          Projects and programs support

Support the implementation of projects as a result of new and material regulatory requirements. This will include the establishment of projects, stakeholder management, develop and maintain timelines and reporting on progress.Lead the implementation and oversight of IBM Open Pages risk management tool to ensure consistency across EMEA and establish a standard and risk-based approach to work for all the territories Support Compliance programs of work related to unplanned activities or initiatives led by Global ComplianceSupport for the drafting reporting and documentation for governance forums

 

3.          Enhance Compliance efficiency and reduce risk

Identify and address trending issues that increase the Compliance risk, proactively resolving them to prevent recurrence in other countriesIdentify and promote “best practice” standards and process improvements, ensuring their adoption across the region, if relevant.Support the EMEA Compliance function in any other business initiatives or projects to drive efficiency and ensure adherence to regulatory and policy standards.

Requirements:

Fluency in English is essential.Additional language skills (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian) are highly advantageous.Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's or MBA) or certifications in compliance, risk management, or corporate governance are preferred.5+ years of proven experience in compliance in the insurance industry, risk management, or regulatory affairs.Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.Understanding of market conduct and consumer related regulations in the UK and/or Europe.Ability to assess risks, interpret complex regulations, and develop actionable compliance strategies.Project Management: experience in managing compliance projects of new laws and regulations and policy implementation.Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.High ethical standards and a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and transparency.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to explain complex regulatory requirements in a clear and concise manner.Attention to detail and meticulous mindset to identifying potential and emerging risks
